With Tera Online finally out many people wonder whether there are private servers seeing how Tera Online is a pay to play game. I actually did a good amount of research and found that there is some private server sources for Tera Online. But the quality of them is very poor. They are Russian and are written in the Java language which makes them horrible. But this seems to be the tread for all mmorpg's now a days.
Finding private servers of any kind can be a real challenge because of what is required to run it. And anyone looking to start a Tera Online private server should also be prepared for the large amount of money they will have to use to get it up and running. Since the source's are not in English you would first need to find someone to help you translate it so you knew what would have to be done to set it up.
After you get the language out of the way the next challenge would be whether programming would have to be done. Normally Tera Online developers have there own team so private server owners would need there own team of people who are qualified to work on it and know what they are doing so there are no problems. This can also be expensive since people usually will not work for free.
The next big part of running a Tera Online private server is trying to get hosting which will be high enough quality for you to be able to host it for the amount of people that you plan to have. And you also will need to figure out what you can make money from in the server to keep it running and make it worth it for others to want to play on it. They won't want to play it when they could play the better version from the Tera Online server.
After all the other aspects are done then you would need to promote your server. Tera Online itself has bad advertising not many know how good the game is. So trying to compete with Tera Online will be really hard.
Trying to open any private server requires far more dedication then most people have this is why many people realize later down the road that running a server is not for them.
